While the focus is usually on what to EAT during the Easter weekend – we’re here to serve up some refreshing inspo as to what to DRINK before, during and after your Easter feast! Impress your guests with these easy cocktails and delicious ‘digestivi’ offering up something for all tastes.



1. Aperol Spritz

Originating in 1919, this is well and truly a classic drink. A subtle mix of bitter orange, gentian, rhubarb and an array of herbs and roots, all comes together to produce a crisp and enjoyable refreshment.

Preparation:
Use a White Wine Glass
Fill the glass up to the rim with ice
Pour 3 parts of Prosecco D.O.C. (9cl) – ideally chilled
Followed by 2 parts of Aperol (6cl)
And 1 splash of soda (3cl)
Garnish with an orange slice

2.Campari Spritz

As the bitter-sweet sister of Aperol, the flavour of Campari has more of the complex depth of multiple herbs and spices – 60 ingredients make up this recipe in fact, although it may remain forever a secret!

Preparation:
Use a White Wine Glass
Fill the glass up to the rim with ice
Pour 3 parts of Prosecco D.O.C. (9cl) – ideally chilled
Followed by 2 parts of Campari (6cl)
And 1 splash of soda (3cl)
Garnish with an orange slice

3.Gin & Tonic

The drink-of-choice of so many of us. Versatile in its infusions and flavour combinations, yet often simplicity is the answer. The boldness of this particularly delicious Gin is complemented perfectly by the subtle sweetness of the berries.

Preparation:
Use a Balloon Glass
Fill the glass up to the rim with ice
40cl Bulldog gin
Place 2-3 blackberries on a stick and place on top of the ice
Top up with tonic, pour directly over the blackberries which releases a purplish colour

4.Cointreau Punch

Cointreau is an orange-flavoured triple sec liqueur, yet the spirit is completely clear. It is produced in France and is a component of many well-known cocktails. Here is complements a white tequila, elevating with added citrus to make a light and refreshing punch.

Preparation:
Use a Tumbler
Wet the rim of the glass, and on a small saucer scatter 1 tsp of Flaked sea salt. Press the rim into the salt to coat
Fill the glass up to the rim with ice
Pour 2 parts of Cointreau (6cl)
Followed by 2 parts of Tequila (6cl)
And 1 splash of soda (3cl)
Squeeze the juice of a whole lime over the top and drop into the glass to garnish

5.Classic Chelada

Unlike the ‘Michelada’ which uses Clamato juice, the classic ‘Chelada’ is simply served adding a squeeze of lime to a light lager, in this case we use the mighty Cisk. A perfectly refreshing combination for a sunny Spring day!

Preparation:
Use a tall 1/2 Pint Beer Glass
Wet the rim of the glass, and on a small saucer scatter 1 tsp of Flaked sea salt and 1 tsp Tajin spice. Press the rim into the spice mix to coat
Pour the 1/2 pint Cisk into the glass – chilled
Followed the juice of 1 lime
Garnish with a lime wedge

6.Averna

Amaro Averna has a rich history of more than 140 years. According to an ancient tradition originating in the fortified Benedictine abbeys, the friars produced a herbal elixir following a secret recipe. According to popular belief, it possessed tonic and therapeutic qualities. Averna as an authentic Italian Amaro is typically consumed after dinner, however it can also be enjoyed over the entire evening.

Serving Suggestion:
Use a Tumbler
Fill the glass with a few ice cubes
Garnish with Mediterranean herbs and/or a slice of lemon

7.Frangelico

Frangelico is a premium Italian liqueur distilled from locally-grown hazelnuts and infused with cocoa, vanilla and berries.
Produced in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy, its origins date back more than 300 years to the presence of early Christian monks living in the hills in the area.
Their skills in fine food and drink included the art of distilling, especially the use of the wild hazelnuts and other local ingredients to create a liqueur on which Frangelico is based today.
Its name is also part of the same local legend – an abbreviation of Fra. Angelico, a hermit monk believed to have inhabited the magnificent Piedmont hills during the 17th century.

Serving Suggestion:
Use a Tumbler
6cl Frangelico
2 fresh lime wedges
Pour over the ice in the glass, squeeze the lime wedges, drop them into glass and stir

8.Cynar

Cynar, thanks to its refreshing and herbal bittersweet features, is an ideal pre or post dinner drink and a bartender’s favourite ingredients to create pungent and original drinks.

Serving Suggestion:
Use a Tumbler
Fill the glass with a few ice cubes
Pour over and serve
